Enjoy the holidays, fatties! Remember that I mock all religions equally, regardless of their particulars. Be you Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, or Hindu, you believe in ridiculous, imaginary sky gods and overly-optimistic afterlives.

On the plus side, sometimes your holidays are secularized into something everyone can enjoy; and in that spirit, enjoy your family, friends, and food.

False Virus Alert in Banner; Forum Registration/Details

If you're visiting the site, you might notice an alert from your antivirus stating that the site's unsafe. There's actually nothing wrong with the site (or its associated banner): the alert's a false positive that we can't currently remove without revamping the site. We'll get to it eventually.

Also, for anyone interested in joining the forums, please note that you'll have to register through IE. For some reason, the bot testing question doesn't function with firefox or chrome.

Finally, as you frequent the forums, you'll notice they aren't moderated (with the exception of spam). It's my opinion that preventing someone from speaking through administration/moderation privileges is rather pathetic; and since we're not concerned with keeping things PG-12 and pleasant, moderation takes a back seat to freedom of speech. That being said, our members aren't abrasive dicks: if you post/respond politely, odds are, we'll do the same.

Current Status and Future Plans

With nothing to play seriously, we've a smattering of games for giggles: Legions Overdrive, Brink, UT3 (the server's still up), U2XMP, and Minecraft. Vent's very active, though I'd appreciate increased presence from a few members.

Games to watch include:

Hawken

Miner Wars

Firefall

Overgrowth

Planetside Next

and Tribes Ascend (provided it's not slow as shit).

We will absolutely be playing Hawken (provided it's released on PC) and Miner Wars. Both games are fast-paced and provide the sort of worthwhile gameplay and skill differential for which we've been waiting.

In the interim, though, do hop on vent and have some fun.

Extra Life: Hospitals Helping Kids

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've been searching for over the years for a way to give back to the community in some small way. I've finally found something that combines two things I love: playing video games and helping kids. A team of 4 friends and I have decided to take on the challenge of raising a minimum of 500$ and embarking on a 24 hour gaming marathon.

The fund-raising event is called “Extra Life” and "is a 24-hour gaming marathon that helps sick kids get better" - Jeromy Adams (Founder of Sarcastic Gamer).
